On 18 October 1998 a parked Aeropostale Boeing 727 rolled away from its parking brake and ran into a Ce310 and two Shorts Skyvan aircraft. The two Skyvans of the Ministerio de Transporte y Comunicaciones were damaged beyond repair. Both aircraft were still parked on the ramp in February 1999, see here for the photos, which clearly show the damage.

Delivered to the USAAF as 41-7747 in 1942. To NC52709 in 1946, YV-O-MC3 in 1949, YV-MC-1 in 1956, YV-O-BYS in 1958, YV-O-MC2 in 1964 and YV-O-MTC12 in 1981. Withdrawn from use in 1984 and scrapped in 2003.

Two Shorts Skyvans, YV-O-MTC-3 and YV-O-MTC-8, were badly damaged in Oct 1998 when a Boeing 727 ran away uncontrolled. The wing support beam completly broke away from the fuselage which is ripped open in several locations. Both aircraft were still parked on the ramp in February 1999, see here for the photos, which clearly show the damage. They were never repaired and this aircraft was scrapped a few years later.

First joining the Ministerio de Comunicaciones as YV-O-MC3 in 1.49, this rare C-47 (later YV-MC-1, YV-O-BYS and YV-O-MC2) was derelict at Caracas as YV-O-MC1 by the mid-1980s and dumped. Carries additional "Búsqueda y Salvamento" (= Search and Rescue) titles.
