This airplane is the prototype and proof-of-concept demonstrator for the Adam A500, a six-seat light twin manufactured at Centennial Airport in 2006 and 2007. Burt Rutan designed the M309 (his 309th airplane design) and it made its first flight in March 2000. Unfortunately, the 2007-2008 financial crisis and dwindling demand for its products caused Adam Aircraft to go bankrupt in February 2008 after only seven A500s had been delivered. Donated to the museum in 2006. (from the museum's website)
