D-KMHG received a Permit to Fly in Oct-1994 and became fully-registered in Dec-1997. It is taking-off here with the power of its own self-launch engine, a 55 hp MidWest AE50R.

Built in 1988 as an ASH-25 and registered D-4904. In Feb-1992 it was registered in the Netherlands as PH-953. In Apr-1993 it was converted to an ASH-25E with a 24 hp Rotax 275 sustainer engine.

Originally registered as OE-9347 in Sep-1990, it became D-KBNG with a permit to fly in May-1997 and fully registered in Mar-1998. Note that its code is only carried under the wing.

In Apr-1990 the registration D-KASS was reserved for it as an ASH-25E which is the version with a 24hp Rotax 275 sustainer engine. In 1991 only the fuselage was completed. It was then waiting for the installation of a different engine. This became a self-launching 60hp Mid-West AE-50R engine and with this its designation changed to ASH-25M. In Sep-1995 a permit to fly was issued, and it continued to fly on the permit, never being fully registered. In Mar-2005 it was registered as HB-2351. It has "ASH-25ES" on it, which is not official, probably meaning "ASH-25E Special".

Demonstrating phenomenal wing-flex of those long wings as it takes off. I was sceptical about these being able to self-launch until I saw this. The retractable engine sounds like an angry wasp !
