The Eurocopter demonstrator is now preserved in the Saint Victoret Musée de l'Aviation.

A rare photograph of this experimental type in flight. Based on the Eurocopter AS365 Dauphin it was fitted with short wings each fitted with a Rolls-Royce Turbomeca engine driving a tractor propeller. These engines had different pitch propellers to counter the torque effect of the main rotor. As a technology demonstrator, the X3 reached a speed of 472 km/h ( 293 mph) on 7 June 2013.

The X3 demonstrator is based on the Eurocopter AS365 Dauphin helicopter, with the addition of short span wings each fitted with a Rolls-Royce Turbomeca RTM322-01/9a turboshaft engine of 1,693 kW (2,270 hp) driving a tractor propeller. These engines had different pitch to counter the torque effect of the main rotor. As a technology demonstrator, the X3 reached a speed of 472 km/h ( 293 mph) on 7 June 2013.
