The Tentera Udara Diraja Malaysia (TUDM, Royal Malaysian Air Force) operates only F/A-18D versions, so no single seaters are in their inventory. The TUDM took delivery of eight aircraft, and they are all assigned to 18Skn, a squadron named 'Lipan' and that is based at Butterworth. This M45-06 is seen while retracting its gear, just at the beginning of a spectacular aerial display over Langkawi during LIMA '17.
