The Getti Tonanti aerobatic team painted the Olympic rings on its Thunderstreaks to celebrate the 1960 Games in Rome. This aircraft, 52-6816, actually served with the Luftwaffe as DD-108 and DD-308 and never flew with the Italian Air Force. The Speyer Technik Museum applied these colours, but managed to misspell the team name. This photo is copyright © Peter de Jong, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
