I don't suppose all these markings were worn at that time, also because the squadron's aircraft were flown by 169th and 170th TFS pilots from Illinois, too, while based in Europe.

Official handover of the first four F-84Fs to the Netherlands air force. The US and Dutch serials are above and below the Dutch flag on the tail and can just be read in the full-resolution photo. The squadron code of 311 Sqn was PP and the squadron colour was red. Then with 315 Sqn, this Streak crashed into a house in Aalst near Eindhoven on 24 February 1959, killing a woman. The squadron code of 311 Sqn was PP and the squadron colour was red. Then with 315 Sqn, this Streak crashed into a house in Aalst near Eindhoven on 24 February 1959, killing a woman. Around 1957 transferred to the 170th TFS Illinois ANG, the unit serving in Europe on 24-hour alert. In 1962 this F-84 returned to the US and was later repainted in SE Asia camouflage as the 170th trained pilots for deployment in Vietnam. In 1972 it was struck off along with the rest of the ANG Thunderstreak fleet after wing fatigue had been discovered. Following use as a target on the Eglin ranges, it was helicoptered into the museum in 1972
