Hamilton Reach was Brisbane's water airport until replaced by one at Redland Bay that could better handle Sandringhams. Barrier Reef Airways base was on the southern side of the Brisbane River at Colmsie. VH-BRA was withdrawn from use at Colmsie in Oct 1951 and scrapped a few years later.
