More commonly known as the Flying Flea. It should really be called the Crashing Flea as they more often or not crashed rather than flew. In front of it sits, to the left, a dummy nuke and to the right, a DB601 from a He111 that was shot down locally during WW2. Adjacent are the substantial remains of another He111 retrieved from a Scottish mountain. The real registration G-ADVU was allotted in Oct-1935 to another HM-14 but not taken-up because it was never completed. This one was built in 1993 by Ken Fern and painted as G-ADVU. It was allocated BAPC.211. This photo is copyright © Ian Howat, and may not be used or published in any way without permission. It was added on 21 April 2019, and has since been viewed 163 times. |
