This early Hawk was saved from a scrapyard in France in the 1950s and acquired by The Fighter Collection in 1990. It is seen here in a French Air Force camo scheme, with GC 11/5 markings on the left side and the The Fighter Collection logo (the Sioux Indian head motif of the U.S. Lafayette Escadrille) and code "8" on the right side. It has "X8" under the right wing and "81" under the left wing, together forming "X881". This photo is copyright © Aad van der Voet, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
