Built in 1944 at Castle Bromwich, as one of the last "high back" Spits. SOC in 1946 and shipped to South Africa in 1948. Wfu in 1954 and sold for scrap. Fuselage and other sections salvaged 1969-1972, sold to Canada in 1985, then back to the UK in 2009 and restored. Flew again Dec 2013. Owned by Aero Legends.
