XM655 was commissioned at Cottesmore in 1964 and was the third-from-last Vulcan to be built. It is the youngest surviving example and is equipped with the more powerful Bristol Olympus 301 engines. XM655 previously carried the civil registration G-VULC (now expired) and is currently owned by Wellesbourne Airfield and maintained by the XM655 Maintenance & Preservation Society.
