USAF C-47A from the 47 BTW at Sculthorpe, Norfolk wearing the mid 1950s scheme of contracted serials. '0-3004' uses the last figure of its fiscal year of ordering (1943) and the last three figures from its individual serial. This 'system' caused identification difficulties for aviation enthusiasts of the period and was thankfully modified in the late fifties.
