The Aviation Légère de l'Armée de Terre (ALAT, French Army Aviation) ran a detachment consisting of Gazelle and Puma helicopters at Abeche, named ALAT Det Tchad, that provided reconnaissance and close air support to the European Union Force Chad/CAR mission in eastern Chad.
