Although conceived and built in thousands as a land-plane, many of the surviving Beech 18s left in Canada found a niche in the float-plane configuration, owing to its superior speed over other aircraft in the same cost & payload range. This one crashed and burned in 1996 after hitting trees while low flying. This photo is copyright © Tim Martin, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
