First flown back in 1987, the Egrett was originally designed as a high-altitude, long-duration surveillance platform for a joint German/US military specification, but the programme was cancelled in the early 1990s. Now revived in NG form, it features extremely high aspect ratio wings and is powered by a Honeywell TPE 331-14F turboprop. The G520T can reach 50,000 ft, fly 2,700 nm and remain airborne for up to 11 hours (or 32 hours in a proposed UAV mode) This photo is copyright © Richard Vandervord, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
