BA's first Chinook, pictured in the days when Gatwick had its own heliport, near the original airport Beehive building (still there today). In 1978 BA was the first to order the Commercial Chinook, for North Sea oil rig support missions. But by 1985 it was decided to sell the six helicopters which had been acquired. G-BJAC became N234CH then C-FHFH but was w/o at Comox, BC on 30.10.97 This photo is copyright © Richard Vandervord, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
