Originally USMC BuAer no. 131700, this Boxcar mysteriously turned up at Heathrow in late 1987 and then went on to Stansted. Registration 5B-CFG was allocated but NTU; stored at Nairobi, Kenya in 1996. Purchased by 20th Century Fox, moved overland to Namibia and used in ground sequences of the 2004 re-make of the great 1965 film "Flight of the Phoenix" This photo is copyright © Richard Vandervord, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
