VH-MMB was a bit of an outsider, the only 300 series F27 to be registered in Australia. It was purchased by Ansett for MacRobertson Miller Airlines in August 1970 but then sold in sold seven months later to East-West. When EWA's plans or -MMB fell through, it was used mainly for charters and to cover peak holiday demand and the absence of other aircraft under maintenance, both is own and other airlines.
