Originally built for Piedmont in 1966, but Fairchild Hiller needed an aircraft to develop the FH-227B and later the FH-227D and arranged for Piedmont to reschedule. In 1972 a large cargo door was installed and it went to Nordair. Later it flew for DHL in Europe and was WFU at Norwich/UK in March 1993 as EI-CAZ.
