The P-16 was designed in Switzerland for close-support with short-field performance for Alpine strips. Test flights from 1955 proved promising, so a contract was awarded in 1958 for 100 aircraft. But the first pre-production machine crashed on 25.03.58, causing the government to cancel, buying Hunters from the UK instead. This is the last of five built, restored using parts from another prototype.
