This P-47, actually 44-32817, remained stateside after delivery until refurbished and transferred to the Fuerza Aérea Venezolana as 15B36 in April 1949. After it was retired from the Venezuelan Air Force it was displayed for more than 20 years at the Military High School Named LICMILAYA (Liceo Militar Gran Mariscal de Ayacucho). It was a "Must Picture" during the graduation ceremonies. It returned to the USA in 1995. It's presently registered to Lewis Vintage Collection in San Antonio, TX painted as 44-33813 "Balls Out" that was damaged in Germany during 1945.
