Mandarin Airlines had among their fleet six 747s; This was the only 747-400 (the others were 747 SPs transferred from parent company China Airlines). Delivered new June 14, 1995, it was taken into China Airlines' fleet in June 2000 after Mandarin merged with domestic carrier Formosa Airlines.
