Malaysian Airways existed between the formation of the nation of Malaysia in 1963 and Singapore's departure from that federation in 1966. The airline then became Malaysian-Singapore Airlines. 9M-ALP was sold in Indonesia soon after as PK-IDH. The titles in the local language read "Sharikat Penerbangan Malaysian" .
