Most of the 35 Turbo Firecats were converted by Conair from ex-RCN Trackers, but this one was originally USN S-2A (S2F-1) Bu 136712. Registered C-GYQY by Conair as a Firecat (previously used on a Bristol Freighter) and delivered to the French Protection Civile at Marseille as F-WEOL. Returned for conversion to Turbo in 1993.
