One of thirty-nine two seat Starfighters built by Lockheed (equipped with Orenda licensed built J-79 engines) for the RCAF. Taken on strength February 7, 1962 as 12639 (104639 after 1970), it was delegated an instructional airframe at CFB Baden-Soellingen in 1986 with maintenance serial 856C.
