ZK-AKU was ex RNZAF NZ528. It was registered in 1946 to National Airways Corporation, the state-owned domestic airline and flew with it until 1962. -AKU was privately owned at the time of the air race and Rothmans Sports Foundation sponsored the entry. In recent years the Dominie has worn its wartime RNZAF markings. This photo is copyright © David Carter, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
