German AF 2219 built 1942 and coded KI-GX, later recoded 3 black. On a mission on 05-Oct-1943 from Petsamo in the Soviet Union it was running into heavy snowstorms and ran out of fuel. The pilot bailed out and the aircraft hit the ground west of Kongsfjord in Norway. In 1986 the wreck was recovered from the crash site and restored for display at the Norsk Luftfartsmuseum in Bodø. It carries the 14/JG5 badge This photo is copyright © Peter Vercruijsse, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
