VH-PFM was damaged in a storm at Archerfield on December 16, 1980. In the background in one of the three art deco "ship-shape" style terminal/administration/control towers built in Australia before World War II. All still exist in 2017 but the one at Sydney is lost behind postwar terminal expansion. The third one, at Parafield, is the only one that is still a control tower.
