Built to represent a Royal Naval Air Service WWI machine, but with a non-existent serial number. RNAS Flight Sub-Lieutenant (acting Flight Lieutenant) Alfred Williams Carter DFC from Calgary shot down 4 enemy aircraft flying this type of aircraft, 5 previously using a Sopwith Pup and 8 subsequently flying a Sopwith Camel, making a total of 17 by the end of the war. In 2008 this aircraft was noted with N5487 on the port side but now has N6302 on both sides. This photo is copyright © Brian R Burrage, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
