This is the first Il-14 to roll off the VEB production line and as DD-AVF was used initially as a promotional aircraft, for example at the Leipziger Messe. In June 1956 it was registered DM-ZZB and used as a testbed for the stabiliser of the Baade 152 jetliner. It then entered service briefly with Interflug as DM-SAZ but was converted to a calibration aircraft in late 1962 in full Deutsche Lufthansa markings with a red nose. The frame was withdrawn in February 1967 and preserved, initially as a restaurant in Langenbernsdorf (with fake DDR-SAZ reg) but since July 1999 at this car showroom.
