The Jervis Bay airfield (HMAS Creswell) was built during World War II as a satellite to the nearby Nowra air base (now HMAS Albatross). Its remoteness from built-up areas makes it ideal for operating target drones such as the Jindivik as seen in the photo. Jindiviks were replaced by MQM-107E drones which are no longer in use.
