In 1978, the 563rd TFS at George AFB received its first F-4G Wild Weasels, wearing the tailcode WW with a red tail band, which replaced their GA coded EF-4C Wild Weasel. the latter had a white tail color and moved to the 39th TFTS, keeping their GA code and the wite tail stripe.
