This B-25J was delivered in 1944 as N5-239 (USAAF serial 44-29032) to the Netherlands East Indies Air Force at Batchelor airfield, near Darwin, Australia, from where it operated over Indonesia during Japanese occupation. After VJ Day, the aircraft moved to Palembang, Sumatra. It was later reserialled M-439 and is seen here carrying 18 Sqn markings which indicates that this picture was taken in 1949. In 1950, the aircraft was transferred to the Indonesian Air Force, retaining its serial. It is now preserved in the Air Force museum at Yogjakarta as "M-443". In the 1960s, the Deelen base/photo flight (BAFO) had 7 dark green/dark grey coloured Harvards of which B-66 was one. The photo was taken in 1967 during the farewell flight of the pilot Harm van Weerden (in front seat) over his home in Dieren. This is former RAF Harvard II FT382 (USAAF serial 43-13123), which originally had the common all yellow colour scheme. In 1968, the aircraft was sold to the USA as N8992 (with "new" msn 66-2637 due to restrictions on Canadian built Harvards). Photo Harm van Weerden.

This is former RNLAF K-3033 in Greek AF markings and serial 3033 on the tail just days before delivery to Greece, which took place on 12 April 1991.

K-3070 only operated with 316 Sqn for about one year in 1972/1973. It then went to 314 Sqn where it stayed for most of its remaining service in the RNLAF. In 1992 the aicraft was delivered to the Turkish Air Force. On this photo, the aicraft carries the old style 316 Sqn badge.

Umarked K-3010 is seen here shortly after its delivery flight to the Netherlands in June 1970. At this time, the aircraft was operated by 315Sqn. By 1972, the aircraft had transitioned to 316Sqn where it remained until it crashed on 1 October 1980 near Venlo.

Rare photo of K-4006 while operating with the Test Group. It only flew test missions between mid October and early November 1975. In 1993, the aircraft was delivered to Venezuela.

K-3017 is seen here carrying the old style 316 Sqn badge on its tail. The aircraft remained with 316 Sqn until 1991 when it was delivered to Greece.

This unmarked aircraft was operated by 314 Sqn. It exploded in mid-air near Leopoldsburg in Belgium on 22 June 1976. The crash location was close to the Pampa live firing range in nearby Helchteren, but as far as I know it is not known what exactly the cause of the accident was.

By mid April 1990, this NF-5A had been painted in a red colourscheme with the text "Redkins Go F-16", to celebrate the 314th Sqn's transition to the F-16. By 16 May 1990, the aircraft was seen again in a grey colourscheme. The aircraft was delivered to the Greek Air Force in 1991.

This is the former K-3071 that was converted to ground instructional airframe after its crash on 2 October 1973. The letters NAC indicate "Nico's Aircraft Corporation" after the two technicians who restored the aircraft and who apparently both had Nico has their first name. The aircraft was scrapped in 1998. Although carrying a 314 Sqn badge, this NF-5A was operated by 316 Sqn at the time of this accident. The aircraft suffered a bird hit upon take off from Eindhoven Air Base. It crash landed in a field in the nearby village of Best. The aircraft was written off. Since the crash, the remains were seen on several locations, last at Gilze-Rijen airbase on 19 March 2016 when it presumably left to be scrapped.

Rare photo of NF-5B K-4021 operated by 314sqn. This winter paint scheme was applied during an exercise at Bodø and was removed almost immediately after return to the Netherlands.

K-3030 was operated by 316 Sqn from 1973 until 1978. In 1978 the aircraft moved to Twenthe.

This photo was taken one day after K-3071 suffered a mishap at Gilze-Rijen Air Base. A tire burst upon take-off which caused the aircraft the overrun the runway and end up in a field. The aircraft was written off and subsequently used as a GIA at Gilze-Rijen carrying the fake serial "NAC-7". The remains were scrapped in 1998.
