From the DFW C.V, the DFW company from Leipzig developed its F.37 which may have been designated C.VII by the German army. Fitted with a BMW IV engine, the type broke the world altitude record in 1919 although the FAI would not recognize this. One F.37 was converted to the P.1 Luft-Limousin with a Mercedes engine and a richly upholstered three-passenger cabin. The photo was probably taken at the ELTA exhibition in Amsterdam.
