In 1927, the Finnish air force bought one copy of Gloster Gamecock's for test tests, which resulted in the acquisition of a production license. State aircraft factory (Valtion Lentokonetehdas, VL) produced these aircraft under the name "Kukko". Until 1930 was built 15 machines. The aircraft served until 1944 and was used also in Winter War (Suomen talvisota) and WW II as scouts. The wreck of GA-58 is the only one remained Gloster Gamecock in the World.
