The nose art on this side of this B-29 is a tribute to the 4th Marine Division, which in little more than a year participated in four successful amphibious assaults, respectively on Roi-Namur (Jan 1944), Saipan (Jun 1944), Tinian (Jul 1944) and Iwo Jima (Feb 1945). On the other side it carries a very different "Three Feathers III" nose art. This B-29 was salvaged from NAS China Lake in 1974 and stored at Daggett - Barstow, CA as N3299F.
