The Berlin Airlift Historical Society's new C-54D/DC-4 underwent gear retraction testing on a rather rainy day in the Sunshine State. The aircraft will replace C-54E N500EJ, which was damaged by a tornado in South Carolina in April 2020. N9015Q will be painted in the same colors as N500EJ and will assume that registration. Tim Chopp hopes to have the aircraft airworthy in late February and successful high speed taxi testing was completed on January 31st. This photo is copyright © Ralph M.
