This 1-11 flew originally with American Airlines as N5026 from April 1988 until November 1971. It joined British Airways as G-BBME in 1973 and went to Birmingham European in January 1990 and then Brymon European Airways after the merger. The latter was bought jointly by British Airways and Maersk Air in 1993 and so G-BBME once again was painted into BA colours. In February 1997 the acquaintance was finally terminated as it was off to Nationwide in South Africa as ZS-OAG. After retirement the plane was stored at Lanseria (HLA) and scrapped in 2006 This photo is copyright © Alastair T. Gardiner, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
