Beginning as a one-helicopter flight school in 1980, Hillsboro Aviation has grown into Hillsboro Aero Academy, operating over 100 helicopters and fixed wing aircraft for flight training. This 1998 Robinson is pictured at their Troutdale Campus. The helicopter was damaged on June 30, 2017 practicing an emergency landing during training. It suffered loss of tail rotor effectiveness slowing too soon, set own hard and rolled over. No injuries occurred, but the aircraft was written off.
