Built in 1941 and one of 42 Hurricanes that were delivered to Malta in May/.June 1941. On July 4, 1941 the aircraft departed from Safi strip but the pilot had to ditch into the sea, writing off the aircraft. the reason is thought to be an engine fire. In 1993 a diver located the aircraft, at a depth of 40m just off Wied Iz-Zurrieq. In September 1995 the aircraft was salvaged and a restoration project was started.
