On 1 November 2008 this Cessna Caravan departed Pretoria Wonderboom airport for a short hop to Nyala Lodge Airstrip. The pilot was given a GPS coordinate with insufficient detail. He landed at a strip he presumed was the Lodge, but it proved incorrect. Shortly afterwards realized that he had landed on the wrong runway. He turned around at the end of the runway and attempted to take off again, but the aircraft failed to gain height. The pilot then aborted the takeoff but the aircraft collided with a telephone pole and a wire fence. This happend 10 km north of the Nyala Lodge Airstrip.
