Entered service with the USAAF around 1943 as 43-15731. To Johnson Flying Service in 1946 as NC24320. The aircraft crashed on December 22, 1954 when it ran out of fuel on approach to Pittsburgh (KAGH). The aircraft was substiantally damaged and 10 people lost their lives in the event. Substantially damaged again at Memphis (KMEM) on December 15, 1994 when a Cessna 208 was unable to stop in time and collided with the DC-3. Again repaired and at the time of the photo it was owned and operated by the Museum of Mountain Flying.
