One of the most famous Daks of all. The aircraft entered service with the US Army Air Force in March 1944 as 42-92847 and was the lead aircraft in the D-Day invasion. The aircraft took part in many missions in the liberation of Europe until its return to the USA in August 1945. It later became NC88874/N88874 for many different owners. To the American Airpower Heritage Flying Musem in September 2015 as N47TB. Planned for a conversion to turboprop, but in the end it was restored to its former glory, with the intention of finishing in/by 2019 to participate in the 75th anniversary of D-Day.
