On display at RNAS Yeovilton Air Day 2013. This SAR helicopter wears the emblem of 22 Sqn. RAF which depicts a Maltese Cross superimposed with a 'pi' symbol to denote the Squadron's service in France with the 7th Wing RFC, hence 22 over 7 or 'pi'. During World War II, F/O K. Campbell of 22 Sqn. was posthumously awarded the VC for his daring torpedo attack on 6 April 1941 on Gneisenau at Brest. The Squadron was based in India and Burma from April 1942 to Sept. 1945.
