At the time of its involvement in the Congo Crisis, the Swedish air force had little transport capacity, but its first C-130E was hired for evaluation in 1965 and soon bought. It was this machine, US serial 64-0546, becoming 84001 and seen here civilian-registered during the Biafran Airlift at Santa Isabel (now Malabo). 84001 was retired in 2014.
