Built in 1957 as WF415 and here in use by Smiths Aviation for instrument test flights. On 27 March 1963 it famously crashed onto the roof of a house after overshoot from Staverton (EGBJ) during single-engine approach training. The live engine was cut instead of restarting the dead engine. Sadly both crew members lost their lives. This photo was added on 30 April 2021, and has since been viewed 915 times. |
