Built for the USAAF as C-47A 42-93127 and transferred to the US Navy as R4D-5 17193 in 1944. To N6517C in 1959. Redesignated as a C-47H in 1962. Reregistered as N55 in1966, N67 in 1973 and to the US Department of Agriculture as N226GB in 1978. Preserved at South Dakota Air and Space Museum from 1987.
