Ex. MJ721, flown from February 1944 until December 1944, when it was grounded due to structural failures of the frame. Initially stored, it became a museum object in January 1959 and became derelict for a long time. To prevent further decay, the decision was made to restore it. This was completed in January and the aircraft was put on display as 'MH424' at the Aviodome. Sold in the summer of 2006, with the intention to make her airworthy again. This was a success and we now know the aircraft as G-IRTY, the Silver Spitfire that flew around the world in 2019. Photo from W.
