The FC-2 was the series variant of the FC-1 prototype, which had been designed for Fairchild's own aerial photography business. NC5574 was originally registered to Fairchild Aerial Surveys. The FC-2 was improved to produce the Fairchild 51 in 1930 and this airframe was modified to Model 51 standard. To Mexico as X-BADV in 1948.
